Product FAQ

1. What is a multimedia keyboard?
- A multimedia keyboard is designed to make it one-touch simple for the user to access often-used programs. There are special keys used to access the Internet, music, and other frequently used programs such as email. A typical multimedia keyboard contains buttons that control various computer processes, such as turning on the computer's power, putting the CPU to sleep, and waking it up again.

2. How to troubleshoot your keyboard?

- If you are experiencing any of the following issues, these troubleshooting steps should help:
- Wrong characters appear when typing.
- Onscreen messages do not appear when pressing multimedia keys.
- Setting a multimedia button produces an illegal operation error message.
- Multimedia keyboard buttons not working.
- Internet keyboard buttons not working.
- Sticking keys.
- The most common problem when faced with a non-working keyboard is an improper connection. Try reconnecting your keyboard, restart your computer and see if that fixes it.
- Turn off the system. Unplug the keyboard connect and inspect for any bent or broken pins. If the pins are bent, then it is possible to gently straighten them using the tip of a ball point pen or mechanical pencil. If the pins are broken, then replace the keyboard if necessary.
- Try to update the device driver. Visit the manufacturer's website for the latest driver available for your keyboard.
- Then at the manufacturers website. See if there are software patches or updates available for your keyboard. If there are, go ahead and install them as well as the updated driver.
- If you are using a multimedia type keyboard, be sure to delete the software before installing any new drivers for this type of keyboard. Install the updated driver for the manufacturers website, then re-install the keyboard software. If any software updates or patches are available for your multimedia keyboard, install them at this time.
- Delete the keyboard software by using Add/Remove Programs (Start>> Control Panel>> Add/Remove Programs). If you receive a prompt asking if you would like to remove all shared files, answer "No to all". Then click OK.
- If none of the above steps resolves your keyboard, then the problem is your keyboard. Your keyboard might not in good condition, try to replace it to a new one if necessary.

3. How to clean the keyboard?
- Be sure that your computer is turned off and your keyboard is unplugged.
- To remove the dirt and lint from the body of your keyboard, hold the keyboard upside-down over a trash can and gently shake it. It is fine to give it a couple of gentle "pats" to remove the firmly lodged dirt or crumbs. Another method is to use a can of compressed air and give it a few shots to remove dirt and dust. Be sure to have a dust mask on if you are allergic to dust!
- If you would like to clean between the keys, go get an old toothbrush and dampen it with a quick shot of Windex or similar. The just gently scrub between the keys. For cleaning the tops of the keys and the rest of the keyboard, go get a soft cotton cloth (an old sock works great). Dampen the cloth with a few shots of Windex or similar and gently wipe until clean.
- Depending on your keyboard usage, it is generally recommended to clean your keyboard approximately once a month. Valued users may want to clean more frequently.
